My Audio Fix for OBS: I didn’t have audio when I first used it with OBS. What worked for me is I double clicked on the video source -> use custom audio device -> Digital Audio Interface (Mirabox Audio Capture)For the actual review I had a Elgato HD60 for years and desperately needed a replacement. I was wondering if Elgato was overpriced or just the only brand finding out it was the former, as I wasn’t knowledgeable since I had the best option just years ago, but this is honestly great! I imagine the more expensive Elgato options are better but if you’re just casually streaming or just simply recording whatever with no emphasis on needing quick reaction time (shooters or fighting games are a no-no) then this is great!EDIT I’M RETURNING IT: With some use I noticed that some blue light pops in every now and then in the recording. Don’t know if that’s just my Mirabox or something on my computer at play. I don’t want to say it’s a deal breaker but definitely is not great, it works well otherwise. I’ll be returning my Mirabox personally.

This may be an artifact of my Ryzen 5600x setup, but it disconnects randomly when the camera is being accessed. Interestingly, it does not have this issue when the camera is not being accessed.

I paid for next day shipping. It was a day late which isant really a real big deal. I gave it 3 stars because the part where you screw the camera on is very inconvenient and kind of difficult. You will need a thin flat head screw driver to do so. I will be getting a thin quick release for this cage. The blue grip that goes on the top handle was pretty easy to slip off. So I used hair spray to make it stick. The blue wing nut thing on the bottom had to be removed because it got in the way of the battery door on my dslr but the mount remained sturdy on my shoulder rig so I’m not stressing that to much. Other then that the cage is nice and im glad I bought it. I would say its worth the price.

I picked this up as a means of using it for my camcorder at FGC events for my commentary cam. What I love most about it is how it is plug and play, meaning you don’t need drivers, and that it is USB 3.0 (little to no latency).I did a quick quality comparison to my Avermedia 4k card just to see what I’m dealing with since no other reviews out there show it and I would honestly say that I am impressed with the results. Although it does not appear to be as clean and crisp as the avermedia when it came to quality it still is much better than I expected, especially for its price (rest of thoughts about quality in video). It is definitely a great and cheaper alternative to the El Gato HD60s (which I work with when live streaming).Now on to what the headline states. As said it does appear to be a little finicky. After finding my camcorder to test it with a few days later, I plugged everything to where they need to be and for some reason my PC would not read the mirabox. I tested the pass through on my tv and that worked but my PC just did not recognize it. I tried unplugging and plugging over and over again and nothing worked. Eventually I restarted my PC with the mirabox still plugged in and upon rebooting the PC recognized it and I could finally pull it up in OBS and Xsplit.I’m not sure what caused this or if this is the actual solution if it doesn’t register right away but I’m hoping that this isn’t a reoccurring problem. This is the reason for the 4 stars.One more thing, the card is a sturdy aluminum box with little to no ventilation. So although durable, it is also susceptible to getting hot. Keep out of reach of children and other objects and try to give it as much space as possible.As an alternative to the more expensive cards USB cards I definitely recommend, especially as a starting capture card for the new budding video game streamer/content creator.
